Wendell Elementary School PTA
The Town of Wendell started in the 1850's when tobacco farmers in Granville County were hit with what came to be known as the Granville County Wilt. The tobacco crop failed and farmers from Granville County moved into eastern Wake County looking for fertile land to plant their crops.
Ambrose Rhodes donated land for a school to be built. The school would be called the Rhodes School. It was located at the same site as what is now Wendell Creative Arts and Science Magnet Elementary School. In 1891, the name was changed from Rhodes School to Wendell Academy.
Our school community will inspire curiosity, creativity, original thinking, leadership, and character. Through collaboration we will create a safe learning environment where diversity is respected and individuality is encouraged.
Wendell Creative Arts and Science Magnet Elementary School will educate each student to become high achieving, life-long learners through exploration and creativity while honoring each other.
We value children first; through positive relationships, data driven instruction, collaboration, communication, creativity, life-long learning and participation in school events and and celebrating achievement!
